How We Do It
Our workshops and performances activate youth to be the change in their community. We engage company members -- young women age 8-21 -- through a series of theater exercises, writing prompts, readings, and discussions. Performances raise awareness of domestic and global issues affecting women and girls.
Some topics we’ve addressed include:
- Identity (race, class, sexual orientation, ability)
- Global Women’s Issues (Forced child marriage, sex trafficking, and more)
- Body Image
- Family Relationships
- Popular Culture
- Violence Against Women and Girls
Where We Do It
This work typically culminates in a theatrical production, and we have produced several critically-acclaimed shows in New York City, including sold-out performances at the New York International Fringe Festival and exclusive engagements at the United Nations, TEDxWomen and regional theaters.
The company and directors are available for day-long or weekend-long workshops for young women, as well as workshops with educators and community leaders working with youth.
